Esteban Hernán Esquivel, dancer, performer. Born in the city of Mendoza, Argentina (11/01/87). I studied at JA Maza University, Bachelor of Kinesiology and Physiology.

In Buenos Aires I began my career with dance. My first year was at the Teatro Colón, then I began my training in Dance-Theater at the IUNA National Institute of the Arts.

At that university, I was also part of the Company. of Contemporary Dance of the IUNA, with which we travel inside and outside the country participating in festivals with works by various national and international choreographers.

Participate, on different occasions, in festivals such as: COCOA Festival, Ciudanza, Universities Festival, FIBA, Spectator Training, Rojas Danza Festival. I was also part of the “South to South Project” where the Company. was presented at the Avenida theater in the city of Maputo, Mozambique, Africa in a collaboration with the National University of the Arts, FESTCOM Contemporary Dana Festival.

My technical training is crossed by martial arts (Karate - Do, Aikido, Kung Fu, Capoeira); Iasparra Technique; Somatic techniques (Alexander, Feldenkrais, Osteopathy); Yoga.

In my creative development I created a company Inc. of Artes 4 Pies along with the dancer Clever Allayme. With which I began to transition into teaching, facilitating regular classes and seminars. Together we experienced two creative research processes that resulted in the works "Retornar", with the participation of Priscila Resca and "SHË", both premiered at the Julio Le Parc Cultural Space, in Mendoza-Arg. "Retorrnar" was also recorded in a fragment version for the New Trends Festival (2013) in Mendoza and the Danzafuera Festival (2014) in La Plata.

During my stay in Brazil, I participated as assistant director in the city of Rio de Janeiro for the play “ICO” by the Fluxfabric group, a theater-dance work that addresses ancestry as a central theme based on 4 women from different parts of the world. (Inâe Moreira, Brazil; DashaLavrennikov, Russia; Georgia Tonu Sweden; Nora Barna, Hungary) the work was presented in Rampa, a space that co-produced the show and was re-released in the same year at the FUNCEB theater, Salvador from Bahia. In São Paulo I continued working with Inâe Moreira as a physical trainer and assistant director in the "Tempo" project, premiered at the CRD (center of reference for dance in the city of São Paulo) and then revived at the SESC Pompeia. I was also a body trainer for the play MACACOS, which talks about racism and black genocide in Brazil, a work that accumulated more than 5 awards, such as Best Actor and Best Editing and won first place at the 2017 Manaus/Amazonas Theater Festival. During In 2018 and part of 2019 I was in constant training and exchange with the choreographers Eduardo Fukushima and Biatriz Sano, with whom I shared training and the staging of the work "Imagine".

As an actor I participated in the short “Top 10, places to visit in São Paulo” directed by Akira Kamiki, work for which I received a mention for best actor at the Filmworks Film Festival São Paulo. On the other hand, I starred in the clip “Da vida” by Marcio Lugo.

2020 He received me in Buenos Aires participating in the revival of “Cumbia de Cámara” directed by Julia Gómez, a work that was presented within the framework of the FIBA 2020 Festival.

It is from this journey that I have been basing my research, from this desire to share, learn and transmit through the encounter of the body, the relational that is transformed into movement and what we call dance, considering, mainly, the history and the referential of the another, where I mirror myself and manage to see myself, relate and dialogue.

As an indigenous descendant, an artist of the movement, I understand the meaning of creating and recreating from “the lack” in this territory re-founded by the colonialism of the body, consequently, of the ideas, ideas that create the movement of which we are all part. It is by incorporating and understanding the connection that exists in being an artist of the here and now, owner of my tempo, that I try to place on stage all the power and ancestry that our bodies breathe.
